Viola Bootcamp

WVU Viola Bootcamp will be held June 16-19, 2022 at the WVU Canady Creative Arts Center in Morgantown, WV. Viola Bootcamp features daily lessons, master classes, technique classes, viola ensemble, ample practice time, lectures, performances, dessert night, movie night, finale recital, and more! 


 

Participants

WVU Viola Bootcamp welcomes participants who are high school juniors or seniors, undergraduate students, graduate students, adult amateurs, teachers, professionals, secondary violinists or those wanting to learn more about the viola. Younger students will be considered with permission from the director.

Every playing level is represented at Viola Bootcamp, from beginners to the most advanced. We typically have an equal mix of playing level from each category of high school, undergraduate, graduate, and adult amateurs. No audition is required. We encourage a true community of supportive violists.

Tuition: $300
*If fees are preventative for attendance, please email Andrea Houde to discuss options. 

Housing Costs:

Single Room/Board: $304.16

Double Room/Board: $223.52

*All Housing payments are made directly to WVU Housing at the dormitories upon arrival.


Arrival and Departure Schedule

For most participants who need on campus housing, arrival is on June 15 between 3:00-9:00 p.m. at the dormitories. Camp activities do not officially begin until June 16 (Thursday) morning at 9:00am. The final concert is 2:00pm on the final day (Sunday, June 19). Check-out from the dorms is 12:00pm, before the final concert.


Housing

Housing options include both on-campus housing in dormitories or off-campus choices at local hotels, Airbnbs, etc, if participants are not unaccompanied minors.

On-campus housing in the dormitories is provided upon request and requires a full meal plan. Dormitories are a 10-15 minute walk from the Creative Arts Center where most Bootcamp activities take place. Counselors are provided for underage students' supervision. Campers of all ages are permitted to stay in the dormitories.
