WVU Viola Day

Students at Viola Day Saturday, November 16 , 2019  
from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

at the WVU Creative Arts Center, Morgantown WV

WVU Viola Day is a one-day event, held each fall, that brings together violists of all ages and experiences from around the region. Participants have come from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, New York, Ohio, Florida, New Jersey, North Carolina, and West Virginia to enjoy master classes with guest artists, technique classes, "viola yoga," vendors, viola ensemble reading session, lectures, social activities, and performances. All violists--and those who love the viola--are welcome! 

Register before Nov. 10 for $25. Fill out our online form and send a $25 check made out to "West Virginia University" with "Viola Day" in the memo line.

Directions and day-of information

Visit the College website for directions to the Creative Arts Center , or search "Creative Arts Center" in your map application of choice.  Parking will be free and unticketed directly in front of the Creative Arts Center. Lunch during Viola Day will be on your own. A full food court is located in Evansdale Crossing, located behind the Creative Arts Center.

  • 9:00-9:30 Check-in, Registration, Visit the Vendors (CAC Lobby)

  • 9:30-10:00 Opening Performance (Bloch Hall)

  • 10:00-11:00 Master Class with Andrea Houde

  • 11:00-11:30 Visit the Vendors (CAC Lobby)

  • 11:30-12:30 TBA Session

  • 12:30-1:30 Lunch and Visit the Vendors

  • 1:30-2:30 Master Class with Jacob Adams

  • 2:30-3:30 TBA Session

  • 3:30-4:00 Break—Snacks with the WVU Viola Studio (CAC Lobby)

  • 4:00-5:00 Ensemble Reading Session
