WV International Piano Competitions at the Intersection of Jazz & Classical Music Piano Festival

WVU's West Virginia International Piano Competitions at the Intersection of Jazz and Classical Music Piano Festival have something for everyone. It’s the only festival of its kind to explore jazz and classical music that offers outstanding artists, teachers, workshops, concerts, panel discussions, and more. Our 2018 exploration of the connections of jazz and classical repertoire will feature guest artist and classical finals judge Chih-Long Hu, classical semi-finals judge Jerry Wong and jazz finals judge Denny Euprasert. Ms. Nelita True will not be adjudicating the competition this year.

Music Educators can receive three Professional Development Credits for attendance at the Festival. These credits are available for teachers to renew their teaching certificate or utilize towards salary reclassification. Those interested must attend all concerts and lectures during the Festival, write a one-page review of an event and submit to the review to the instructor of record, Dr. Ching-Wen Hsiao
