Undergraduate Studies in Musicology & Ethnomusicology

Although WVU does not offer a Major in Musicology at the undergraduate level, there are many opportunities for undergraduate students at WVU to pursue interests that engage with research and creative activity shaped by musicological and ethnomusicological methods and scholarship, whether it is through our regular course offerings and electives, independent studies, one of several Minors in the School of Music (including Appalachian Music, Jazz Studies, Music Technology, and World Music), or the Bachelor of Arts in Music program. WVU’s Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program also sponsors students to engage in mentored research with faculty.
