High School Choral FestivalSaturday, October 27, 2018
Our Fall, 2018 High School Choral Festival will give students the opportunity to work with renowned choral composer, Jake Runestad. Following up from our first three choral festivals, with Eric Whitacre, Joshua Habermann, and Ola Gjeilo, this event will be an excellent opportunity to delve into the music of one of our great contemporary choral composers and perform on stage with the composer.
Registration will open on August 13. Final payment will be due by October 1.
The day will begin with registration from 8:30am. Rehearsals will begin at 9am and the final concert will be at 4pm, finishing no later than 5pm.
The cost for the day will be $35 per student. This includes a festival t-shirt, lunch, music, and a fun day of rehearsal with a super-star composer. Places will fill up quickly, so I encourage you to register early to avoid disappointment.
For those of you who have joined us in the past, you may have noticed that we have moved the festival to the Fall Semester. This decision was made in the hope to avoid scheduling conflicts with All-State choirs, show choir competitions, and musical performances.
If you have any questions about the event, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Kym Scott.
