Ryan Carroll

Assistant Professor, Director of Music Therapy


Ryan Carroll graduated with a Master of Science degree in Music Therapy from Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis. Before teaching, Ryan’s clinical work focused on the insight-oriented treatment of adult mental health consumers, both forensically and civilly committed, and substance-abuse specific music therapy care.


Ryan has served as a staff trainer for the DC Department of Behavioral Health. He has guest lectured at universities across the country and presents at regional and national conferences over multiple disciplines on training and supervision, the benefits of music therapy in psychiatric services, and its impacts in culturally diverse settings.


Ryan received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from Seton Hill University, where he co-founded the Seton Art Service Corp, an organization designed to bring the arts to underserved youth in the Greater Pittsburgh Area.
