CLASS DESCRIPTION

The Jazz Improvisation class is open to middle-school, high-school, college level and adult instrumentalists looking to develop their skills so they can jam with friends and jazz musicians. This class will introduce you to musical building blocks you will need when improvising your own solos and perform with other musicians at local jam sessions. You will explore essential approaches to articulation, rhythm, and melody through the study of some iconic jazz repertoire in preparation for a group performance at the Community Music Program’s Fall Recital.

REMINDER

A class is usually cancelled when registration is less than five (5) participants. In case of cancellation of the class, all students already enrolled will be notified immediately. Submit your registration form as soon as possible to ensure your spot. We will reach out to you to process payment closer to the first day of the group class. Special discounts can be found on the registration form.
